BMW Z5 As A Coupe?

Its official, the last Valencia Orange Z4 Roadster was rolled off production line last month and BMW has finally ended production of the E89 forever but, we aren’t sad to see it go.

We saw this coming after rumors surfaced of the upcoming Z5 and it’s not big loss. The Z4 may have had a folding hardtop, a better looking front facia than its predecessor, and a peppy six-cylinder but, the steering wasn’t precise, and the mix of ride and handling left something to be desired.

The Z4 won’t be missed and fans will be looking forward to its replacement, the Z5. What seems to be a fixed roof Z5 prototype was spotted on the streets by Car Magazine, perhaps BMW is following in Toyota’s Supra footsteps. BMW hasn’t said anything about a coupe variant of the Z5 drop-top but
we can definitely see the resemblance. The bonnet and boot lid design looks similar to the layout that we’ve been seeing on the drop-top version.

Inside reveals the coupe to be a dual-clutch automatic, also shown is an instrument cluster that’s borrowed from the next-gen BMW 5-series.

Perhaps we’re just looking an M version prototype but, we won’t really know until the official reveal of the BMW Z5 which could happen next year. Do you think this is a Z5 coupe?

I thought this was the new supra..... ? This looks so much bulkier than the spy shots of the Z5 we've seen

Z5 as a coupe an convertible will be a good move since the M Coupe was always offered as a coupe and they need something to replace that then you have that whole Z3 and Z4 crowd looking for something new, it's the only way they can cater to both and follow through with what's expected of them. My assumption should prove to be true.

Of course the M coupe would always be offered as a coupe ? I mean, it still won't be that supremely different if we look at the spy shots prior to this as the Z5.

I guess another way to look at it is the fact they won't have a roadster so odds are first we'll see the coupe and then convertible, or both all at once but we need more information to suggest that will actually happen.

For sure, we still need a lot more information to have a real good hunch on what's going on. For now it's kind of shooting in the dark with what we have.

It's slowly coming to light but there's no doubt that what we're already getting from other BMW models could find its way into the Z5, so right now that's all we have to go off of, it just takes some digging and thinking of what will and won't make it.
